Silage Transport

McNaughts specialises in silage and fodder transport with the ability to transport bulk amounts directly from paddocks to farms. We have experience serving dairies, farmers, and feedlots throughout New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria.

Who Needs Silage Transporting Solutions?

Silage is green fodder or grass that has been compacted and stored in airtight conditions to be used as animal feed during the winter months. Making sure to get silage for your farm or other agricultural institution is necessary to feed your animals during off-season months. We simplify this process by packing, storing, loading, and transporting this silage directly to you.

We can safely transport bulk loads of silage for our customers and pride ourselves on our expertise, professionalism, and cost-effective transport services. Aside from our transport services, we are also a storage and fertilizer supply company with years of knowledge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Silage season is typically in the early spring. How early depends on your location and you will typically cut three times a year with four- or five-week intervals in-between to allow for regrowing. Some may cut silage up to five times a year, but this is not as common.

The storage life of silage depends on the type of plastic used. Plastic sheeting can last for around two to three years, while Stretchwrap plastic will last around 12 months. Round and square bales that are unwrapped can be placed in pits or hillside bunkers and covered with plastic sheeting.
